Day 1: Biarritz – San Sebastian

Our flight into sunny Biarritz landed an hour late. The first mission was to assemble the bikes. We put enough air in the tires to move and then got the pressure up in a bike shop with a giant bicycle on the roof 4km up the road. The plan was to stop in hondarribia for lunch but we were running late so skipped it and started the big climb of the day, the Jaizkibel. The climb goes for about 9km with an altitude of 455m. The rest of the route was mostly downhill with views of the Atlantic on the right hand side. It was getting dark as we approached San Sebastian and after getting lost for a while found our Airbnb. For dinner we roamed the streets of the San Sebastian old town for beer and tapas.
